Happy Birthday, Wesley!

Wesley celebrated his birthday with 4 of his friends at the Air Force Museum and watching Prince Caspian. It is so hard to believe that he is 9 already! We had a fun day.

Happy Mother's Day

Just a quick little note to wish my mom friends a Happy Mother's Day. I will be at work tonight helping a few more people join the mom group! :) Enjoy your special day.

The back portion of the roof now has insulation, OSB boards, and heavy ice-guard tar paper on it. It looks similar to the previous pictures but all of this has taken 3 days to accomplish. We had our second inspection this week as well. All is looking well. In the blur of working consecutive nights I missed out on a highlight this week. I made dinner and left for work. Dad and Kris were worn out from putting in a days' work on the roof and anticipating all the OSB boards that would have to be moved from the lawn to the roof the next day. 4 guys from our church showed up and in that hour and a half made this all happen! Thanks so much Jeremy and whoever else came with you. The back of the roof is shingle-ready! I pray our home will always reflect all the kind and hospitable hands that helped to build it.
Oh...Wesley was Chicken Little last night at a school performance. His beak broke before the picture!

Getting ready for a garden

Pictures...Isabel with her new pink sand (photo by Wes), another sunset (by Kristianna), Coach King rototilling our garden spot, Dad W. putting up the boards to hold the roof insulation in place, and Kris "supervising". The porch floor boards are up. Another huge thanks to Dad W., Eddie R., and Pete G. for helping Kris stay busy without lifting more then he should. :)

other quotables

I knew there were other quotes when I posted last but they escaped me at the time. I'll post two of them now before I forget again.
-When walking by the deli section of the grocery store Isabel exclaimed "Oh, look Momma! It's a Ferris wheel for chickens!" (rotisserie chickens)
-Apparently we watch Extreme Home Make-over a little too much. When we were looking in the log home at her room, Isabel stopped and said "It's going to be so sad when they tear the garage down." :)

Keeping Kris busy

I don't have any fancy pictures to post just an update to let you know we have been weeding, doing little odd jobs around, and trying to keep Kris occupied! He is having a hard time staying away from building when it has been his life for 10 months. Pete G. is over again today. The tar paper has had to be nailed down a few more times in all the wind and rain we have received. Our grass we planted is getting greener and taller.
Isabel's cute comment on looking at constellations at night...
-"Oh, look! There is Ryan and the Apple Dipper"!
