Row #10

Kris was able to finish row # 10 yesterday. He has lost his building buddy now because the logs are taller then Wesley! They will be about even with Kris's head on #11. Almost time for scaffolding I guess! We had more visitors today. They Kinseys' came from FL. Above is a picture of Kristianna with her best friend for so many years. We had so much fun catching up with them! Kris's family also stopped by today. Heidi (also visiting from FL), Pete (about to fly back to Dallas), and Mom and Dad W. It was a fun and full day.
We have been looking back at the notable events over 2007. How great is our God! I am amazed at all He has done. A few highlights....selling our house in a market that wasn't moving.....Isabel off her medication...us here...healing for friends and family. Although we have had some sad and disappointing times, it has been a good year. May this time of reflection leave you with similar conclusions.
Happy New Years' Eve!

Catching up with Knauses

So many faces! So many places! In 24 hours we have met up with Sam, Allison, Sam, Caleb, Abigail, Mom K., Susan, John, Kristel, Rachel, Ben, Bethany, Grant, Stephen, Karen, Grace and Rebekah. We are now in Raleigh, NC and will leave in the morning to return to Ohio. More building! This is the first time our family has left Ohio since our move. It has been a whirlwind family tour but it has been great to see everyone and get away. Thanks, Stephen for letting me use your high-speed Internet so I can share so many pics! We are so glad to have met up with some of you. Have a great rest of the week!

Williams' Family Festivities

We left for the Williams' gatherings in Athens, Ohio on Christmas Eve morning, right after I got off work. There are so many pictures here that tell just a few of the fun memories we had. Truly, how could you NOT have fun with food as festive as this?! :) Josh, Megan, Katelyn, Heidi, and Pete all came in from CO, TX, and FL. We left on Christmas day to drive to Appomattox, VA.

Making Gingerbread Houses

How can you put words to a fun afternoon with friends and family? David, Joanie, and their girls came and met us at the Gayers' house to make some tasty creations! It was great. It was neat to have some time to catch up with them all.

Adding the logs....

Merry Christmas!! I hope you all enjoyed your time with family as much as we did! I am going to break these posts up a little by subjects. Here is some building updates.

First of all, Kris has a new building partner. Wesley has been a HUGE help to Kris, esp. now that he is suffering from tennis elbow. Wesley does the pounding part. Kris rented a Bob Cat to back fill the basement. I did not get a picture of it stuck in the mud! :)
Josh was here and tried his had at the log building. He helped Kris put up a row.

I think that is it for the building update. We are at row #7 now!

Dec.15 th update

I can't believe it's been so long since I've posted. Here are some fun and exciting things that have happened. Yesterday Kris started to lay down the first row of logs!! You can see a bit of the outline here. We have also had our first snow and the kids got their first snow day. Kris pulled them around our property on a piece of plywood with the tractor. After that first beautiful snow it all melted and things got a little muddy. The kids were entertaining themselves by building a parade float.

While not in any order I hope these pictures give you a little sampling of our December. In between all of this we are busy with Christmas preparations. Hope your days are as fun!

Happy Birthday, Cameron!

Tuesday's update

On Monday morning we all woke up to the sound of strong winds. We have had some minor issues with the door and often could feel the wind blowing against it. Kris spent Monday placing a storm door with confusing directions!
Today Kris is working on the band boards. It is hard to get a picture of the house site so bear with me. Our garage is in the way! :) We are supposed to get snow tonight.

Week of pictures

From Cedarville's Little Town of Lights ......

Construction (kids with Lincoln Logs) to Destruction (Dad W. with new chain saw).....

Isabel making a birthday cake for Grandpa out of cornbread, beans, potatoes, and applesauce and very proud of it! :)....
Saying goodbye to two old friends... The truck that has hauled most of the garage parts and the van. It was harder for me to let go of the van. After bringing Wesley and Isabel home from the hospital, traveling to MANY states, meets, and trips to school it felt like a part of our family....

Putting up our Christmas tree. Our decorations are on the smaller scale this year but we still had fun!
Hope your week has been as enjoyable.

Newish truck.

We've upgraded to a Ford F250 this week. It is 4-wheel drive. Kris is excited. I still prefer our little Honda Fit!

Moving along, despite the rain

I wanted to send a quick picture update! It has been cold and rainy and Kris has a sore elbow! He had to work on the stairs in the garage today due to the weather.
